Inspired by Liam, Mayor Kling Announces Two Holiday Art Contests

From the press release sent out by Mayor Kling today:

Last week, a young man named Liam, a local fifth-grader from Centennial Elementary, along with his family and the Centennial principal, Michelle Tripp, visited us at our Nampa City Council meeting. Liam was celebrated as the first "student artist of the month" featured at his school. Liam shared about his love of art and his love for Nampa. Liam also surprised me with a beautifully framed sketch of the Nampa Train Depot, and I would like to thank him again for the thoughtful gift which I'll proudly display in my office!

Inspired by Liam, we have decided to host two creative contests ahead of the holidays!

  • "Thankful Nampa" in Lakeview Park's StoryWalk Trail - with Thanksgiving coming up, it's a great time to share artwork, pictures, stories or poems of reasons you are thankful or grateful! We invite the entire community to exhibit reasons in art or words why they are thankful this year.

  • Design Nampa's Christmas card! We would love to feature original artwork from Nampa students up to 18 years of age we can use for our official Christmas card this year!

We have additional information on our website, including ways you can submit virtually, at http://www.cityofnampa.us/contests, or a list of locations you can drop off your creative submissions in person.

DEADLINE: the deadline to submit for both contests is November 1.

Thank you, in advance, for sharing your creativity with us this year!
